Khaptad Trekking
Khaptad National Park is a hidden gem of far western Nepal, a vast highland plateau of alpine meadows, sacred ponds and dense oak and rhododendron forest. The park holds deep spiritual significance as the meditation ground of the revered saint Khaptad Baba (Saccidananda). A moderate trek suited to nature lovers and pilgrims alike, with rich biodiversity including Himalayan black bear, musk deer and hundreds of medicinal plants.

Itinerary
Day 1
Mahendranagar → Silgadhi (Doti) by vehicle, 5 to 6 hrs. Night at a teahouse.
Day 2
Silgadhi → Khaptad National Park entry via Jhigrana. Trek 4 to 5 hrs through forest. Camp at Tribeni.
Day 3
Tribeni → Khaptad Plateau (3,100 m). Arrive Khaptad Ashram, visit Khaptad Baba's hermitage.
Day 4
Explore the plateau, Sati sacred pond, Triveni Ganga, Khaptad Daha lake. Sunset views of Api-Nampa and Saipal.
Day 5
Rest day, or the alternative trail to Khaptad Lekh (3,300 m) viewpoint. Local herb and flora walk.
Day 6
Descend via the Chainpur route to Bayalpata, then on to Mahendranagar.

Rara Lake (2,990 m) is Nepal's largest alpine lake and one of its most pristine natural wonders, a deep sapphire jewel set amid pine and spruce forest in remote Mugu district. The surrounding national park is home to red pandas, Himalayan black bears, musk deer and diverse birdlife. Raw wilderness, far from the crowds of the popular trekking routes.

Day 1

Mt. Api (7,132 m) is the highest peak in Seti Province and one of the most dramatic summits in far western Nepal's Api-Nampa Conservation Area. The trek to its base camp passes through remote Bhotiya villages, ancient trade routes, glacial rivers and pristine alpine wilderness, a genuinely off-the-beaten-path Himalayan experience that very few trekkers ever attempt.
